Dear Community Friend,
I am writing on behalf of McLean Little League to request a donation for our silent auction held in conjunction with our 25th annual golf tournament, which will be held online from May 12th -May 24th, 2023.
All funds raised during the auction will be used to fund the league, including ensuring equitable access to baseball and softball to all children in our community. This year marks the 25th anniversary of an event that brings McLean Little League friends of the present and past together on an annual basis. On the surface McLean Little League appears to be just about baseball and softball; however, as a larger goal McLean Little League strives to build community. This event is simply an extension of that community effort.
The money raised through the Golf Classic supports McLean Little League and helps to maintain the fields and facilities on Westmoreland Street. Over the 24-year history of the tournament several hundred thousand dollars has been raised to help make “The Miracle on Westmoreland Street” one of the finest Little League facilities in the country. In addition, the money raised from the Golf Classic provides two $2,500 Scholarship to former McLean Little League players graduating from high school in that particular year. One scholarship goes to a boy and one to a girl whose accomplishments and leadership in academics, community service and athletics demonstrate the high standards that McLean Little League seeks to foster in all of its players. Through the years, almost $100,000 in scholarships have been granted through this event.
We would greatly appreciate any donation you can make – no item is too big or too small! You can donate an item in kind or a gift card in your business’ name. You can include any collateral from your company with your donation, and it will be included when given to the winning bidder. Should you make a donation for the auction, your business will be recognized on our social media accounts, the auction website, and in the golf program.
We are a nonprofit organization with a 501(c)(3) federal exempt tax status, and your contribution is tax deductible.
